What Will I Study?

The Edexcel Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People Services (England) (QCF) is aimed at assistant managers, deputy mangers working in day or domiciliary services looking to progress their career. 

What Modules Are Covered

To achieve the Edexcel Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care you will need to achieve a total of 80 credits. There are 2 pathways we offer for this course and your optional units will be dependent on the pathway you choose. 

1. MANAGEMENT Pathway: 

The management pathways (Children and Young People’s Management and Adults’ Management) are suitable for assistant managers and deputy managers working in day or domiciliary services who are looking to progress their career. They are also appropriate for managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at this level.

2. RESIDENTIAL SERVICES Pathway: 

The residential services pathways (Children and Young People’s Residential Management and Adults’ Residential Management) are aimed at those in similar job roles as those taking the management pathway but offer a focus on management and care in residential settings.

What Qualifications Will I Get?

 How Will I Be Assessed?

This qualification is assessed through a variety of methods including reflective accounts, written assignments, producing work related evidence and quizzes. Your course materials will be made available to you online and on sign up you will be allocated a tutor who will support you through your entire course.

You will be required to write a final assignment for your course. 

You will also have your assessor visit you in the workplace to carry out observation. 

 What Are The Entry Requirements?

You will need to be in an appropriate work role. As this qualification is competence based, you need to be working in one or working towards one of the roles below;

  • Assistant managers of residential services 
  • Assistant managers 
  • Senior Care workers 
  • Day service managers

The course is offered as blended learning course. You study online and a work lace observation is carried out as well.
